Setting the Foundation for Kindergarten
Before your child starts kindergarten, it's ideal to prepare for it. St Clair Academy has a great pre-kindergarten program that focuses on these needs. We have an adult to child ratio of 2:10 and every child receives dedicated attention required for overall development at this stage.
Encouraging a Confident Communicator
Introducing exciting books, poems, stories, and songs are a great way to expose your child to the relationship between letters and words. It'll also help them construct sentences and correctly identify and write down different objects, animals, etc.
Teaching Important Math Skills
During pre-kindergarten, math education is most geared towards understanding the relationship between numbers, recognizing quantities, and simple addition and subtraction. We use interactive games to help establish the number sequence in your child's mind.
Developing a Scientific Interest
From making slime from scratch to learning how and why ice melts, our teachers instruct kids to get in touch with their inquisitive and investigative side. While learning these simple applications of science, they begin to develop an interest in other natural phenomena as well.
Social and Emotional Growth
Developing bonds with classmates, learning how to work together on simple plays and projects helps children understand social queues. We also proactively discuss how to build friendships at this age.
Nurturing Muscle Growth and Motor Skills
We have a mix of indoor and outdoor activities that help children increase fine motor development, as well as balance and coordination. This builds their muscles and gives them the opportunity to stack on strength.
