A Curriculum That Reflects Your Child's Needs
At St Clair Academy, it's important for us to make learning fun for your child. The foundation of academics begins when your child begins pre-school. Our curriculum allows plenty of room for development in terms of basic language skills, as well as math and science knowledge.
Our adult to child ratio is 2:10 allowing us to tend to your child's needs carefully. Our pre-school is open five days a week and you can choose from various schedules. We've also been rated five stars on the Step Up to Quality Program. So, your child is receiving a quality education each day.
Teaching the Art of Language
Now that your child understands simple words and phrases, and is able to communicate, it's time to focus on the finer art of language. Through rhymes, songs, age-appropriate books and games, we help your child start making connections between letters, words, and sounds.
Basic Math Skills for Your Child
Solving simple problems requires an analytical mindset. By teaching your kids how to count beads or form sets, we help set a foundation of math. Fun activities like building block towers can make counting blocks a natural way of introducing math into your child's learning curve.
Introducing Science to Your Child
From identifying flowers to showing them first-hand how plants grow, we nurture the curiosity in your child. Kids at this stage are also introduced to the concept of sinking and floating on water. This develops a natural urge to ask questions about nature and the outside world.
Furthering Social Skills and Emotional Growth
Building friendships, sharing, and communicating with others are important learning matters at this point. We offer a community atmosphere to provide them the opportunity to do these. We also expose kids to diverse cultures during this stage.
Development of Motor Skills
Yoga, stretching, and catching or playing with a ball are some simple activities that we use to develop your child's muscle strength and coordination. At this age, kids need to be involved in games and activities at home that can build and improve physical strength.
